Onyx - Times of Change Empty
PostSubject: Onyx - Times of Change   Onyx - Times of Change EmptySun Feb 10, 2013 3:41 pm

I have little doubt, the majority of my people will call me a traitor. A despot. A coward. At one point in time, this would have crushed my soul, but now I do not care because I know the truth - we have been stuck in our ways for too long and if drastic changes are not implemented immediately, then we are all lost. And that... that is something I will not abide. If I have to drag them kicking and screaming, I will save my people, whether they want to be saved or not.

Are they mad? Am I right? Am I mad. Perhaps all three are true, but there is one thing I have known for some time and have more recently confirmed even further. Far too many things are happening all at once to be coincidence. The end of an age is upon us and I plan on seeing what the next age is.

I would have been willing to toss all of it up to chance despite the evidence, until these past couple of weeks. A map of untold (and long thought forgotten) secrets - a meeting with Demetrius in which I discover the map is part of his ancient home - going to investigate further and coming upon the companions I assisted in killing the God of Calibration... yes - a GOD.

Such events are not left for mortals or even virtually every exalted on the planet. The fact that they are all non-Dragon-Blooded has not escaped my notice either. Together, in an act of cooperation that has not been witnessed by our peoples in perhaps eternity, we defeated a god. That is no small task for any group.

I know the Lunars have more reason to distrust my kind than any others, especially the itchy witchy with a bow at the ready all the time, but I believe peace may be possible. I know they think me foolish, but we will either all survive or die together. The Abyssal Lords will not stop at Thorns, or even the Blessed Isle.

I do not know how much sway Theon holds amongst his people and to be fair, I've certainly overstepped my own bounds but if the attempt for peace is not made now, I fear it will be too late for us all.
