The Edge of Light

Constantinople is a dark gem in the long nights of the Dark Ages. The city has ever risen, despite what may befall it. The whole of it has been ruled by the three and the triumvirate. Michael of Toreador is the shining force behind the city. Few vampires who have lived in the city longer than others would whisper so quietly as to not be heard the city reflects the mind of the patriarch himself. The further the years turn, that fluid grace has fractured in strange ways. A method perhaps lays behind it. But what that could be, remains a mystery held by so few.

The year nears 1200. For those long standing in the city, such a terrible changes threatens to come. For those newly arrived, the city is a splendor of knowledge, politics, religions....and deeper mysteries and visions than any other place on earth.

((more to be written on the setting and plot based on characters))

Year 1197
Michael the Patriarch rules from the shadows of humanity, yet vibrantly amount kindred. By this age, he seems mired in the pursuit of something beyond all kindredkind. He rarely ever speaks. Yet to stand in his presence is to believe he has spoke the gospel. There is a secret here, among so many, but doubtful your characters will know it.

New faces have arrived to the city within the last few years, far more than any other time. A few are hidden from the populace at large, yet known by a select few. Others have made their faces well known among the court.

Talk is ever increasing about the crusades, and a soon to come 4th crusade. The coming of such a war divides the mortal populace which drives wedges among the vampires in kind. The war is more than simply for power or position, or the question of religion.
